This Privacy Policy explains how Pluginscape (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit our website or purchase our software. We are based in Austria and comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who we are

2. Data we collect

When you visit the website, our hosting provider automatically logs your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained for up to 30 days.

When you purchase a plugin, our payment processor Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your name, email address, billing address, and payment details. We do not store your payment card information. We receive your name and email from Lemon Squeezy to deliver your license and provide support.

When you activate a plugin, our license server receives and stores a hardware identifier (HWID) derived from your computer's hardware, your license key, and the IP address of the activation request. This is strictly for license enforcement.

When you contact support, we retain the content of your message and your email address to respond and maintain a support history.

3. Why we process your data and legal basis

• Order fulfillment and license delivery — processing is necessary for performance of the contract you enter into when purchasing (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b))
• License validation and anti-fraud — legitimate interest in preventing license sharing and abuse (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f))
• Customer support — legitimate interest and contract performance
• Security logging — legitimate interest in protecting our services
• Legal compliance — retaining purchase records for tax and accounting obligations (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c))

4. Third parties who process your data

• Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record, USA) — processes all payments and is the seller of record. See their privacy policy at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
• Our hosting provider — serves the website and the license API.
• Email provider — delivers transactional emails (license keys, receipts, support replies).

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers.

5. International transfers

Some of our processors (including Lemon Squeezy) are based outside the European Economic Area. Where this is the case, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards as required by GDPR.

6. Data retention

• Website logs: up to 30 days
• License activation records: for the lifetime of the license plus 12 months
• Purchase records: 7 years (required by Austrian tax law)
• Support correspondence: up to 2 years after last contact

7. Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”), subject to legal retention requirements
• Request restriction of processing
• Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at)

8. Cookies

Our website uses only strictly necessary cookies required for the site to function (e.g. session management). We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), restricted access to production systems, and secure credential storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to minimize risk.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
